Ann,Regarding things for kids to do...The PGA has a program designed to get children interested in golf. It's called The First Tee. Golf courses can get assistance from the PGA to set up programs. If Rich Thiele, the GM at Lexington Oaks Golf Course could initiate action, perhaps this summer a lot of children in Lexington Oaks can learn to play the game.Has there ever been any talk of sports program sponsorships, say perhaps a youth soccer league for the community? Two- and three-man basketball tournaments can be held; grab a couple of your friends and challenge two or three other hoopsters and get by elimination. Flag football anyone? Community Service programs for Lexington Oaks in particular and Wesley Chapel in general? Junior Chamber of Commerce meetings in our Community Center?I'll keep thinking...maybe I'll hit on something.Bob Hendrick=====================

I was thinking of doing a Math camp in July, at the clubhouse. One hour twice a week for 3rd grade to 12th grade. Mostly drills and board games between same-age or same-level kids. I would need 2 chalkboards or white boards. Anyone interested? Home - 813-973-3224

Youth Ideas
Hi Ann, thanks again for all you do. I have several girls in the 9-12 yr. age group and am all for coming up with some ideas to keep them busy this summer. I have access to lots of stamping supplies and will talk to a friend of mine who was a Univ. of Kentucky cheerleader. Fortunately, she still has lots of energy and may be interested in teaching some basic cheerleading in the clubhouse. Also, interested in what the insurance liability would be if the skateboard park idea moves along. I'm also thinking it would be a good idea to have that option for the boarders, as I know first hand how hard those kids (usually boys) work at it. Where do the teens go to have good clean fun anymore? In my hometown in Iowa years ago!, we could go to the YMCA for dancing to records!! with parents as chaperones on weekends. Is it possible we could get some parents to step forward and do that for the teens in here if they're even interested in something like that these days?? Thanks, Janet Hanson
Is anyone interested in having a Lex Oaks Parade of Homes? I sent a notice to the HOA team about it. It would help the For Sale By Owner's as well as the listed homes with the sale of their homes.
