re: this week's news October 27, 2007

Hello everyone. Halloween is upon so please be extra careful while driving through the community, watch out for little ghouls treat-or-treating. This time of year we have so many children out on Halloween night, let's all try to make it safe and fun for all.

Don't forget clocks are going back November 4, 2007.

I can't stress enough the importance of cleaning up your pet waste. This is a health issue. We are still seeing pet owner's not picking up after their pets. Not only is this illegal on private property but public property as well and the fines can be heavy. Do please take a bag with you on your walks and pick up after your pets.
****************************************************************************************************************************

I know of two people who do not pick up behind their pets.  Both live in Saratoga Village on Dark Star Loop.  One has a hot dog dog and he goes in everyone's yard and he never picks up after him.  The other one always walks his along Lexington Oaks Blvd and you will never see him with a bag with poop.
I agree that this is discussing.  I'm a dog owner and always have my bag.  If mine goes more then once I use the same bag or come back to clean it up.

Nice message sent to all. Maybe we should start picking it up and throwing in their yard.  They probably will get the message after their front lawn is full of their dogs everyday poops.

****************************************************************************************************************************
Our Documents clearly state that the poop must be cleaned up while in Lexington Oaks.

I'm with you however 100%, everyone, everyone should pick up after their dog and/or pets.  It is just the right thing to do.

I thought the neighborhood garage sale went pretty good.  I thought the much needed rain we had early in the morning, may have held it up a bit but not much.

Regards, Doug

For sometime we have worked with the Pasco County to develop a bus system to include Lexington Oaks and the greater Wesley Chapel area.  As you know there was a meeting held here in LO, what I'm requesting if you would send the attached survey out to LO and requesting residents to complete it and mail it to Laura Everitt, Esq., AICPSenior Project Manager Tindale-Oliver & Associates, Inc.1000 N. Ashley Drive Suite 100 Tampa, Florida 33602 .  Not to the address on the survey.

Comments from community yard sale:

I'm not sure who is in charge of the community yard sale advertising, but The Flyer will let you run a small ad for free.  If it gets over a certain amount of words, then there is a charge.

I do a huge children's sale with a friend of mine & our biggest response from advertising (and we have several sources) is from the Flyer and Craig's List (also free - online).
Anyhow, hope this helps whoever does the advertising, plus it's free!  :)

The female speeder you are speaking about drives like that everyday. She passed us the other day doing at least 80 and we thought she was going to roll when she got to the circle as the road was wet. She was going so fast we could not get her license plate. If she does not care enough about her own well-being she should think about the rest of us. A good start would be for her to put her cell phone down when she drives.

I checked out the Lexington Oaks referral website and didn't see any suppliers for sliding screen doors.  Can anyone recommend a good company?  Thanks for the help.

re: this week's news October 23, 2007

Good afternoon:
We are well into fall now, not that our temperatures are any reflection on this but several residents have decorated their homes in ghoulish garb for Halloween. Let's here it for all the residents that went all out this year.

I do have a comment to make this week. It seems that several of our residents are choosing to leave their dog messes on the sidewalks along the Lexington Oaks Blvd. or in the grass along side the sidewalks. This is not only a county ordinance prohibiting such conduct but is also against our community deed restrictions.

It has gotten to the point that those that use the walkways for exercise or to stroll their baby carriages along have to dog the messes left behind by these dogs. The other day I found a man standing in my front yard allowing his pet to relieve himself. When I asked the man, to please pick up the mess and offered a bag, he used vile language and told me he was well within his rights to do so as dogs mess in his yard all the time. Difference being is he owns a dog. The man (and I use the term loosely) continued his obscenities when I tried to hand him the package he had left in my yard. When I asked his name and address he was not willing to give me that. Next time I will take a picture and post it in the pipeline. This is appalling that we are subjected to cleaning up after someone else's pet. For those of you that do carry bags and clean up I thank you, this is not directed to you. But it shows that you are concerned about our community and I for one appreciate you pick up. For those of you who do not choose to do so. Shame on you. This is your community as well. You should take pride in where you live, and the area around you, and if you own a pet it is your responsibility to take care of it and clean up after it. Do NOT leave it for someone to walk in, or worse a mother with a stroller and then having to clean the stroller because of the choices you make.

Also, our community yard sale was last weekend. It seems that some felt that it was not advertised well. I happen to know that it was in the Wesley Chapel Leader on Oct 18, 2007 in the community news section. None of the other communities that were also having their sales Saturday the 20th was written up. I also had inserted it several times in the pipeline and it was on the community calendar in our October monthly newsletter along with the sign in the front of the community. I am sorry that it was not as big of a success as some would have liked. Hopefully, we will have a larger showing in our Spring community sale.

I'm again writing about speeding within the community - this one is very important.  On two separate occasions (once entering and once leaving LO) a female driving a green car with writing on the windows (Senior 2008), was driving excessively fast on the main blvd .  The first time so fast that I was unable to determine the village she would have lived as she had to be traveling at least 50 mph or better.  However, the other morning she pulled out of Saratoga village and proceeded to pass me building speed as she did.  So this goes out to the parents of this young woman...please talk to her - my son died as a result of driving too fast and I don't wish this on any parent.

Now you can bring that lap top computer to the playground or to the pool and go online.  We recently installed WiFi routers at the community center to make connecting to the Internet world available while residents enjoy the pool or the playground.

Referrals:

We just had some root pruning done today by a company by the name of Tampa Stump Removal and I just want to pass on the information regarding his company.  He is fully insured and licensed.  He did an excellent job.  He can be reached at 813-244-7327.  He was able to cut roots that were headed for our driveway and also for our walkway and not do a lot of damage to our yard in doing this job.

Good morning Everyone!

More good news one one of our residents:
WESLEY CHAPEL - Just in time for the holiday season, central Pasco's first major mall will open four stores for business by the end of October.

Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Dick's Sporting Goods and Toys R Us - along with its Babies R Us counterpart next door - will be the first anchors to get a head start, said Bill Krahe, managing partner of Echo Real Estate Services.

If anyone notices someone feeding or attempting to feed the alligators in our ponds please call the Fl. Dept. of Wildlife dispatch number :
(813) 558-5050
Feeding the alligators is a serious offense here in the state of Florida. Individuals caught doing this are subject to a $500.00 fine and/or 60-days in jail.

Also, for those that call on nuisance alligators be aware that it is up to you to check on the traps that are being used daily to see if a gator is on one. You could be cited with Florida Statute 828.12 cruelty to animals. I received this information from the Sarasota in Defense of Animals, Inc. organization.

Hope you all have a wonderful week. I am attaching this week's movie review.
